    Seaplane pilot.

Indeed I have. It came down to "You can't prove it since you didn't smell his breath." kind of situation. However, when he hit that tree with his pontoon, he had a little more trouble since someone called it in to the local PD.

I think everyone missed the point.. Drone pilots are not given the same rights as manned pilots, even though we're expected to follow the same laws. You can say, "Oh, you could have avoided that aircraft!" But, what if the manned pilot is actively trying to hit your drone? According to the...

    Seaplane pilot.

That is what I was referring to when I said "stall" in my original post. My mistake for thinking most of you knew what I meant. Though, a few did. No, it's not that one in Canada. The guy ended up getting drunk again, clipped a treetop and had to make a hard landing back at his lake. I think...

    Parks, kids and drones

I have long said that the outdoors should be tightly regulated and licensed. Then we could maybe have some assurance that only properly qualified personnel are operating the outdoors. Think of all the toddlers that wouldn’t be hit by things, causing all those dads to be forced to speak out for...

What I am saying is that ANY interaction between a suas and a manned aircraft is automatically the suas operator’s fault by the law. Even if someone else is operating dangerously and possibly illegally, nope, still the drone pilot’s fault. THAT is my point.

    I was not contesting that.

    Inspire 2 Battery Button Stuck

I had the same issue with the battery button. I had to take the casing off. After pulling the button assembly out, it was easy to “reset” it if you will. Just gotta be careful putting the buttons back in. But if you break the crap inside. That’s $180.

Obviously you don’t feel that we as suas operators have any rights in the skies. We’re held to the manned and unmanned laws, yet given half the rights. And you don’t see a problem with it?

    Seaplane pilot.

I think it was more of an observation that while we are required to follow laws and regulations that are slightly different than a manned pilot, we are still in the skies, suas are the same as manned according to the FAA. So, we are not given the same rights, though. Y’all are so quick to say...

    Seaplane pilot.

I live in South Central Maine.. There's this guy who has a unregulated airport at this lake within 4 miles of me. I try calling him every time I take off with my bird, and they never answer.. Nor do they have voice mail. Off and on I'd see him taking off and flying away from my location...

    Correct motor mount angle

In my tinkering with the relevant angles of the motors, I've found that a 93-97 degree variance is tolerable. Just as long as the arms do not have a difference of more than a couple degrees between them. Anything further than that, you're bound to have some issues.

    Pilot Error Crash (Inspire 2)

I was getting landing gear errors, mostly it saying it's going up and down when it's not. Usually when I was flying in sport mode. I gave it a teardown and wiggled some connections in the brain and it seemed to calm down. I have to get a new center gear thingy anyways since I snapped the plug...

Replacing the Gimbal and Vibration Absorbing Board

I've done this. It's a pain in the arse too. Especially when you have to guess your way through it. This is what you need to do, really. 1. Go through all the procedures to separate the main body from the legs. 2. There's the plastic thing on the "floor" of the drone body, held in place with...

Critical Failure of T*Motor Props during shoot

I still use the stock props for my I2. I've heard too many horror stories about 3rd party props failing and this story only cements my belief.

    Pilot Error Crash (Inspire 2)

Ouch! I've had my own crash recently with my I2. I was out giving it a test flight after a firmware patch. I got some interference and it switched to ATTI mode on me suddenly, then got hit by a gust a wind at that exact moment which caused it to suddenly drift to the left and smack into a...
