Interesting, thanks for the information. I did the hack a few weeks ago and did a test flight, the low battery warning seemed to be at the same amount of discharge as before. I believe those warning levels can be adjusted in the Go4 app. I’m not seeing how changing the warning and forced landing...

Thanks Tom snd IronSky, I see that now in the FAA ruling. However it still looks like the add-on RID unit has to continuously monitor itself and notify the pilot during flight of any malfunction. How does it do that when it could likely be far enough away from the pilot that cellphone wifi/BT...

To be compliant with the FAA ruling the drone has to be prevented from takeoff if the RID is not working. How do the third party units meet that requirement? Surely it would need to be programmed into the drone firmware. DJI has not implemented RID into its Inspire firmware yet.

I would think as long as you are a named insured on the policy it doesn’t matter who the insurance owner is. I have my licensed assistant named on my policy so he can fly too when needed. FAA authorization doesn’t ask who owns the drone, they just want the pilot name and sometimes the drone...

FIXED: I had the exact same "no offline maps" problem on both my Crystal Sky monitors and was able to fix it with help from the kind folks at DJI. I thought I had all the firmwares updated already, but they gave me a different method to upgrade the CS firmware and it worked on both monitors...
