Just to comment on the crystal sky and custom dji sdk apps. We develop custom apps for the cs specifically because the android device is approved and sold by DJI. We assume that DJI tests their sdk on the cs to minimize errors and general complications with using disparate android devices...
Regarding the list of sites that DJI apps connect to - where did you get this list from? Did you use a internet sniffer program to look at all the sites that the DJI GO app contacted? Also, in addition to the internet sites, is there a list to show what information is being relayed? To me this...
I've written a couple of DJI apps that moves telemetry data in real time to other systems such as a pc. The reverse can also be done - take a location and feed that back to the DJI drone to get the drone to move to a new location.
It is a bit trickier to accomplish - but an object can be...
Private custom apps can be used. These are apps which can be loaded via a sd card and not downloaded from google play. This is really good news to provide clients with a stable, fast, and daylight useable android device that is custom built for DJI applications. Now developers can build custom...
I've worked on a couple of projects where we have moved telemetry data from an android device to a pc as well as back to the drone. As others have noted, the lightbridge datastream is proprietary and it is not possible to capture the video prior to the rc. It is possible to parse the video...
A quick follow-up question - I write apps using the dji sdk. The local mode will come to the sdk in a month or two and we are trying to figure out if we can use it for our scenario.
After switching the DJI app on crystal sky to local mode, does this also turn off the wifi? Or is the wifi still...
Hi eric,
This might be doable, at least look into seeing if a rough proof of concept could be built. I sent you a pm via the forum but feel free to contact me at [email protected]
Thanks,
Dave
Glad to know it works. Just a couple of questions about your setup. So you use the new hard wired connection that is available to the X5 along with a 35' or so usb wire? When you say it takes a while to make the connection - does it always make a connection but that it takes 10 seconds or so...
Have you tried using a custom DJI app. Something that will combine throttle and gimbal movements in such a way to provide the movements as you are looking for?
The wifi connection for the OSMO is not very strong and the range is quite small. The OSMO is really meant to be quite close to the android/IOS device to maintain a good connection. I thought there was a cord to use instead of the wifi connection but I've not used that.
Using the DJI sdk - it is possible to obtain the individual YUV video frames and show them on an android device. Then to package the individual frames into a streaming video over the internet is not something that I've done. Also the DJI sdk does not have a method to retrieve the audio stream...
I am guessing, I don't know for sure, that the problem is that your android device is not powerful enough, there are too many apps running in the background, or else you are running into memory problems. The clue is the fuzzy screen that you are getting. When you see a screen like this it...
This is extremely inappropriate to call someone out on these forums like you did by describing in detail communication between yourself and one of your customers even if you take pains to remove their name/address. There are much more professional methods to refute someone's online criticism...
Hi Steve,
I am also looking into developing custom drone software. I think there will be a market providing end-to-end solutions taking some of the hassles out of flying drones for commercial purposes: video/photo management, check/lists, and custom no-fly zones (limiting flight to property...
