DNG from I1 - Hot Pixels in Aperture

On almost forgot one last thing: - Could DJI please bake this fix into the camera itself, and please release the software tool for Mac users? Thanks.

DNG from I1 - Hot Pixels in Aperture

To acoll123 and other affected by this issue, I've just been made aware of the DJI DNG Cleaner tool. http://www.dji.com/product/inspire-1/download it is currently only for Windows. I ran it against one of acoll123's DNG that she sent me and confirm that it appears to fix the ugly spot issues...

    v1.0 of iOS app

Just want to point out that the dongle is a TV receiver that works by decoding and sending the MPEG video and audio stream into an iPhone/iPad. That's digital video input by definition. These guys did it by going through the Apple MFi certification process and the Apple app submission process...

    DJI's New E800 Locking Props

You'll find a statement here from a DJI employee: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=30493871&postcount=3508&lang=en "E800 and inspire use close loop ESC and apply active brake on the motor. If you did not screw the prop in tight as it required, the prop may fly off in some...

    DJI's New E800 Locking Props

Motor braking is already activated on the Inspire 1, that's why the prop locks are necessary for the low-probability event of the prop coming off.

    DJI's New E800 Locking Props

Hi Joola, Good point. Based on DJI's own manual, the motors are also compatible with the self-tightening props if the motor mounts are removed. From the E800 manual: From this information, I think existing motors can be modified by simply installing the motor mount.

    DJI's New E800 Locking Props

A few days ago I learnt about this from RCGroups, and was curious why it wasn’t brought up earlier on this forum and DJI’s forum. So I’m putting this out. The Inspire 1 uses DJI’s E800 motors, and DJI are starting to sell the motors for people building their own multirotors. In the E800...

    Inspire crash

Thanks for posting that Heiifyre. I know exactly what you mean. Since flying involves risk management, if I take all reasonable precautions and care, and experience even one crash in a thousand flights - I would question the reliability of the platform. This is because of the potential liability...

    Where is unofficial app

I haven't seen this mentioned here. If your computer runs Mac OS X, you just drag the .ipa file into iTunes. Then sync the app straight onto your iPad or iPhone. I'm running Mac OS X Yosemite, not sure if the Windows version of iTunes behaves the same way.

    Platform maturity

Hi Greyhawkimages, Others will chime in, but this is what I've seen: Basically as the Phantoms have gotten more sophisticated, the platform seem to be seeing more issues. I think the Phantom 1 in many respects had the least issues compared to its more advanced siblings. I will cite examples...

DNG from I1 - Hot Pixels in Aperture

Hi silvertoner, Sent you a message. From the images I viewed from you, I do not see the faulty pixels in Lightroom 5.6, but I do in Aperture/Preview. What I see have been sent to you as a separate message. I'm starting to suspect that the faulty pixel mapping functionality is not working in...

DNG from I1 - Hot Pixels in Aperture

Thanks Thomas Knoll. Just curious, for Lightroom to 'repair' the DNG file does that mean the DNGs contain a mapping of faulty pixels? I find it a bit concerning that we're literally seeing hundreds, maybe thousands of faulty pixels and sub pixels. This image is a 200% crop of an image. That...

    DJI pulled support for iOS?

Since we can't download the app, you'll need to have a backup of the app. Extract the DJI Pilot .ipa file off the iPad/iPhone and back it up. I used iFunBox to do this. Once you have a copy of the file it can be re-installed on your iOS device or another iOS device. I did that tonight...

DNG from I1 - Hot Pixels in Aperture

Sure post them up and I'll report back on what I see. If you prefer, you could send the links to me by Private Message (they call it a 'Conversation' on this board) if you didn't want to post the photos publically.

    Opinions wanted on editing software/computer

Video editing has always been a real resource hog. My suggestion is that if you're getting comfortable with your current software, I'd stick with it and really beef up the following critical components: - Fast CPU (preferably either Intel or maybe AMD's upper end models). - Lots of RAM (more...
