If your strictly flying by line of sight then the limiting factor is your eyes. You will have full control way beyond what your eyes are capable of. Another thing to consider while flying vlos is the farther away you get the harder it is to tell how close or far away from something you are...

A quadcopter can fly with 3 motors with full yaw applied. Will the i1? I have no idea! :) A full sized helicopter will not fly with a motor failure either. :)

Maybe the nfz's were implemented because of the known problem of flyaways being experienced by some rather than being implemented because hobbyists don't have a clue how to make intelligent decisions? I guess if one is being paid to fly the i1 the possibility of a flyaway diminishes? There are...

I'm guessing that flyaways,batteries going from 70% to 5% and everything else that could possibly crash the i1 is higher on the priority fix list than a tilted horizon that not everyone is experiencing.

I would always do anything I could to avoid having an incident with a manned machine. I'm quite sure no one would want that to happen. That's right "if you enter a restricted area" but if your are already in this NFZ zone when you get a gps lock it will kill the motors from what I have seen living in a nfz and doing some experimentation. Maybe things have changed with the later fw updates but when the NFZ was first implemented...
