The batteries will start to auto discharge on their own after 10 days (using the default setting in DJI GO). Just don't press the battery button as that will stop the discharge process and make the battery wait 10 more days before it starts discharging again.

The stock hard case is not really hard at all. I wouldn't say it's fit for checking in when flying. Check out the Go Professional cases. They are made very well.

This is a known issue for batteries that have been sitting without use for too long (e.g. on the store shelf). Return your batteries and get a replacement. In the future, buy your batteries from Amazon (if Amazon fulfills order) or buy them in person. That way you'll be able to easily replace...
