UK Flying near large metal objects

I fly as close as 10 feet to wind turbines all the time. We inspect them. The worst problem I have is wind gusts that swirl around the top of the nacelle. This one is 300 feet tall and I'm about 15 feet away:

    Firmware Update resulting in crash

Update: As of today, January 6, 2016 around 12:20PM, DJI technicians were able to analyze the crash via flight data. They requested my flight logs on January 4th, downloaded from the aircraft by me, then sent to them via Dropbox. The results are that this incident falls under warranty and they...

    Firmware Update resulting in crash

Boy, as experienced you say you are, you sure like to munge up the facts. And I take it you are a main source behind creating this forum, as you have the most likes and most messages and you call yourself an editor but hide behind the profile. This will be my last post, because I'm tired of...

    Firmware Update resulting in crash

Spent over an hour on the phone with DJI. It turns out you actually are wrong. I let them know you stated you are a beta tester for them and you have full access to their R&D and their reply, and I'm paraphrasing in order not to implicate, is that is a bunch of bunk. That what you say may mean...

    Firmware Update resulting in crash

I don't think you understand Mine WONT fly... Period I've said that before but but you don't seem to comprehend this. And that IS why I'm irked. But give me til Monday to offer a more informed response.

    Firmware Update resulting in crash

At this point, allow me a chance to talk to DJI support on Monday to recreate the problem of a grounded system where Firmware Update Required My system simply won't fly I never asked for an apology but it's clear you have little respect other's experience

    Firmware Update resulting in crash

Again, your missing the point. I think you have a comprehension problem, that along with your arrogance will never get you a job in my circles because I no longer respect your opinion. Flown in this parking lot several times before, never had magnetic issues with embedded rebar. Whatever gave...

    Firmware Update resulting in crash

I understand your need to defend DJI since you are the editor and staff member of this forum but why are you here if you've only flown the Inspire a few times? The title says "Inspire Pilots." You say I do not have an understanding of firmware updates, but I do know this-- I've flown this...

    Firmware Update resulting in crash

As I mentioned, it's been a very busy schedule with gigs all the way to Christmas day. Forgive my lack in response time. My MOD values were 0 | .99-1.01 | 1400-1600... these are standard and what I'm used to flying. The crash was not caused by bad aircraft prep. Compass calibration was achieved...

    Firmware Update resulting in crash

... was not aware of not being able to use past workflow of plugging into the remote. Perhaps release notes should have language such as "DO NOT PLUG YOUR CAMERA INTO THE REMOTE CONTROL" and as I said, prior to launch I received a safe to fly message. Still resulted in aircraft being...

    Firmware Update resulting in crash

    1. When I left the house yesterday, the controller and the DJI Go app were up to date. Since the last update involved the aircraft and camera and was completed, I did not bother to turn on the aircraft at home to be certain there were no further updates. 2. When I got into the field and turned...

DJI Go App 2.42 will not connect to RC...grounded

Had the same problem using Android/Galaxy Note on this last update. Had a steady light blue LED on the RC and it laid there like a dead fish. Finally switched to my iPhone 6 and performed the firmware update. All is fine now. Flying with the Galaxy Note after the update.

New 1.5.70 update has broken remote (doesnt link, camera view cannot see video)

Yes. That worked for me. I used my iPhone 6 to relaunch the update and now my controller is back up and running. Apparently, there is a new update for Galaxy Tab today 12/1. Perhaps DJI corporate was aware of this issue and updated it.

New 1.5.70 update has broken remote (doesnt link, camera view cannot see video)

I'm having the same problem. Totally messed me up. I had a paying client today. Was in the field and when I launched the app, it required the firmware update. This was without internet or wifi connection. Had to cancel the flight and lost the job. Now, back on the work bench, tried to download...

    Irrational fear?

Yes. Stability. I do pro inspections and pro level video. Sometimes I have to fly in high winds. Phantom won't handle that. Phantom also won't handle in-flight camera adjustments, i.e.: ISO, aperture and gaming for exposure sweet-spots.
