As mentioned a few times before (I think even in this thread), this issue could be fixed with Slimraw.

Yes, slimraw solves the dark image issues as InterMurph has mentioned.

Camera Raw is meant for photos and isn't concerned with speed, so it does raw processing with higher quality than Premiere. You can try Resolve which has more raw processing options than Premiere, and it is also better optimized for raw work.

It is not just the core data that's missing. I looked inside a file and there is nothing in there, it is just a bunch of zeroes. All the data has been lost.

B_H, Premiere only added support for lossless DNG in CC 2015. AFAIK, Slimraw does lossless compression by default, so you will need CC 2015 for this.
