Flying in Class C airspace under a shelf

Pretty sure you can go into settings and disable. But I live in a class B surface volume and after calling for permission, am able to launch my I1-2.0 without any problems. I haven't disabled anything that I remember.

Has FAA Lost their **** mind?

If its an uncontrolled field I suppose you contact the airport manager. But thats only a recommendation. Strictly speaking I suppose this is due to the potential for a class E surface volume but those are fairly unusual. In those cases, that would be controlled airspace as well, requiring...

Has FAA Lost their **** mind?

Oh sorry missed the last part. Airport managers are responsible for the property and have nothing to do with airspace requests. You definitely need to contact either the tower for a smaller airport or TRACON for a larger one.

Has FAA Lost their **** mind?

Yup I call Cincinnati tracon. Not near as busy I'm sure, but that's what the law requires. I'm over cautious because my certificate is my lively hood, and they've already taken certificate action on a private pilot for flying a UAS in class D w/o permission. Actually CVG is more helpful than the...

Has FAA Lost their **** mind?

If you're flying commercially, you need to get airspace authorization via the web. If you're a hobby flyer you can just call the tracon and ask permission. I do that all the time as I live in a class B surface shelf. The FAA and local are two totally different things. Local municipalities...

    USA Skyswoop

They specifically state you'll be an independent contractor. If you have to provide them a w-9 then I'm ok with that but I'm looking for reassurance that they're legit.

The pilots license doesn't bother me, that's all public record, but the SSN and bank account does. I think I'm going to set up a business account for drone ops anyway.

    USA Skyswoop

Hi All. Has anyone had any experience with this company? They look to be the UBER of commercial drone operations. But when you sign up you need to give them your bank account to deposit funds, fill out an W-9 for tax witholdings, etc. They're so new the BBB doesn't have any information on...

    CloudlightFPV

So hoping for an update to this thread. Looks like cloud light app for iPhone is about $15. Bad reviews though. Mostly reporting crashing or not having features desired.

Forewarned is forearmed: Launch and land from PA State Game lands is Prohibited

FAR 107.45 is referring to this I believe. But they've intertwined parts to include part 91. Such as 107.47. At any rate the problem with all of these is that the FAA hasn't defined a lot of these rules. Say for example flight over people. So how far is over. Or is it directly over? The truth is...

Forewarned is forearmed: Launch and land from PA State Game lands is Prohibited

So the FAA already has a rule about not flying under 2000' AGL around most national parks, wildlife preserves. These are posted on VFR sectionals and don't change too often. You can get a sectional at your local pilot shop to see. Here's a snap shot of the key from ForeFlight app.

    Part 107 Hard Copy

As a regular pilot I can tell you they give you up to 90 days and usually they use every bit of it. When I renew my CFI or get a new type it usually takes 70days to get the card.

Panning and tilting Camera on Inspire

You can program C1 to toggle left wheel from tilt to pan. But I find I forget what mode I'm in. Single pilot it's easier to pan by yawing the drone. Or put it on a GPS autopilot route and as mentioned above drag the camera from the iPad.
