Seems odd to me that you would put that Inspire in the air with no screen device attached to the controller. Am I missing something?

Depends on your soldering skills. There are two parts to that puzzle. The core wire and the fine mesh wire that surrounds that core. Those two puzzle pieces can not be in contact with each other at all. To replace that entire cable would depend on whether you can remove it from the system. Once...
