Run the mini4 in airplane mode. Force quit any other apps running in the background.

A few thoughts. It’s very possible that the camera was useable without any update. Updates are NOT mandatory and DJI products are useable straight from the box, new or used. Without any history on what you acquired, and more precise information, all that can be done is guess.

You mentioned an issue with the gimbal. That’s the information I was asking about.

Since I’m too lazy to hunt this issue(?)down, more details please.

No positive proof, but I would be betting that the answer is a NO.

That particular version is a year old. .0300 on mine and works fine.

Not willing to take that kind of a leap. Not with just DJI. Goes for any update on ANY device that I use. The better plan is just what you’re doing, research. I tend not to fly any DJI product when connected to the all powerful internet. I’ll power mine up over the weekend and see what pops up.
