Don't have experience with that as my bird is a bog-standard Inspire 1. Maybe upgrade gradually. I dare say that my issue was that there was a major change in the way upgrades are extracted in the pre 1.3.0.0.0 FW. If your FW is wrapped in a folder with lots of PDFs and such, try extracting it...
