That is not correct, as per the manual they provide the batteries are installed with the landing gear down. The batteries don't protrude as far aft with this device and I believe, by looking at the photos, that this is how clearance from the props is attained. As far as how it may affect CG...

Might be normal, but of all the I2's that I have flown I have not heard this sound. If you don't like it, I would return it. If you can deal with the sound then keep it.

On a related note, how do you select still image size? I want to take photos with the full 20 megapixels, but all of my photos are about 8 megapixels. In the still photo settings box there is no place to select the image size. This is using an X5S.
