Just received my brand new Osmo with free FlexiMic

The DJI GO app is buggy. (DJI tech support confirms!). The upgrade takes place; the stupid app doesn't see it.

Lens flare! Sunlight is hitting the lens giving a milky flare. Protect the lens from sunlight with black gaffer tape and the flare will disappear.

I maybe have the answer! Trust your Osmos; there are bugs in the DJI GO app which means that the it fails to recognise the update. Here is a reply to my mail from DJI Support: "Dear Sebastian, Thank you for contacting the DJI Support. You should check in the LOG file if the update was...

I received my Osmo yesterday WITH a free microphone

I had exactly the same problem. It worked for me when I formatted the SD before putting the .bin file in the root directory. I contacted DJI after sales but got no sense from them. Keep trying; mine worked at the 3rd attempt!

I tried several times. It finally worked after I reformatted the SD before putting the .bin on it.

I think it's a bug! I didn't either. You have to do the upgrade with the .bin file in the root dir of an SD. It took 3 attempts before the upgrade installed.
