On the compass calibration graphic it shows to spin the aircraft around the center point of itself... but in videos on the dji site they show a person spinning it around their body as the center point.

Is there a better method?

Thanks for any tips!

Nope - Either is perfectly acceptable.
This has been covered before on the forum as well.

Thanks very much for your input. Does it matter which way you turn? Clockwise vs anticlockwise? Thanks again!

Both ways work ,but in the manual it says to turn counterclockwise for both positions. .
I've seen a pilot turn one way for the nose out and another way for nose down..it worked..
most important thing is to do your calibrations the same way every time ,smoothly and precisely ,in a known good location. ..
