Could you describe what glitchy and not working properly mean, maybe a video of the issue?

I just got the iPad Pro and the go 4 app runs much smoother than it did on my older iPad. Gotta love the giant screen too!

X4s apparently has a lot of problems,
Send it in to DJI, DJI gives you a new one, right away...
The electronics burn out apparently,

Thats what I ve done, twice...
And I ordered also the X5s to have two cams with me, that works better than teh X4s... more reliable...

How long did it take for the electronics to burn out? That's concerning to hear, I have a x4s and did notice a bit of warmth after a flight.

Not long,
I recieved the X4s, in January, New, i used it in working conditions for i a few projects, Maybe 5, then ihad to send it.
And the second one, i think 2/3 months it held up.
By first week of may it was death...

It happend when i was in the Jungle in the middle of Africa, ... So it's hot there.. I think it didn't help..

But troubles started appearing, i think around the 2nd filght, Things i didn't mind, it always can happen smthn isn't perfect at any startup.
So just restart the thing and it worked.

But now i know it was just the beginning.
Just send it back if the thing doesn't work, and you'll get a new one.

My advice, get Two cameras,
I went X4S + an X5S, so at least one will always work... :)

_ By the way, the Sensors don't really like big changes. From Latitude or place in world.
Always do an Update of the software when you arrive somewhere, if you travel far, and calibrate everything ALL the time.
The last (2nd) X4s i just send back, went bezurk , completely crazy, when i was filming where the Equator crosses the Greenwich Meridian.
Exact Coördinates 0.0.0.0, The Sensors do not like this at ALL ...

And it DOES NOT like flying on the Equator ...
If you r just a bit next to the Equator all is fine-ish, but if you fly on it, or over it / cross it.
The thing starts making circles on it self, 360 degrees turn.. it's facinating.
It doesn't crash, just let it get out of it's trouble, and if yr passed it/ Floats out of it, it's allright again.. ( ish) ...

So yah, it could be we push our gear Hard, but that's why we buy Pro-equipment.
So If DJI wants to sell to pro's they shld up their build quality...

Buy the way, the DJI helpdesk is not ****, it's worse.
Their aftersales are not realy up to any pro level. Miles away.

So get yr gear with a specialised reseller,
At least they know what yr talkin about.
I go to Gulliver in France for all flying gear.

DJI realy needs to up their Pro - aftersales game.
Instead of selling completely useless toys, I think...

Do you have refresh on your x4s to get a replacement?

Beats me...
I only give you my experience, and what my supplier tells me ...
All X4s'es they have sold since it came out, had to go back, they told me.. so ...
I don't know, i just want it to work, that's all that matters for me, and be helped correctly if it doesn't...
And not loose huge budgets when the thing breaks down in the middle of a Jungle, or remote place...

That's all...

I will not search my self for hacks, or a solution, or whatever... havent got motivation or time for that :) ...

For me this thing is only an other camera, thats on a high high tripod .. :)
So like any camera, double it out or find a solution...
( Like gaffa taping a Sony Camera for photos to the inspire, that worked... - Gaffa tape is yr best friend :) )

Wow so I potentially bought a 600 dollar paper weight. I hope the issue was sorted out in later revisions of the camera. If every one had to be replaced this would be a red prop level event. I haven't heard of this though.

i never said it was a paper weight,
its a wonderfull nice camera, makes beautifull images, its surprising...

Only its not 100% reliable, i wld say its 60-65% reliable, so work with that.
Just forsee it .. thats all..

like with anything;...

I don't realy care, if you send it you get a new one, that's fine..
As long as it's not yr fault..

It's such a good result from this small thing, and so easy to use,
That that's a trade-off we want to make...
Just take two camera's, for a second X4s its only 600 -700 bucks extra,
Honestly if yr pro, that's not such a big problem no ? on this equipment type ? ...

That was my idea, Our X5R was a couple of thousand like 3000 or 4000 on the inspire 1 ?..

So a X5s+an X4s, you still come out cheaper, and you have a backup..
( i find the X4s better in Low Light, personally, and for flying above watter, well you have longer flight times, so i feel more comfortable... For all other things the X5s is better)

I have not seen X4S problems besides some sort of startup twitch issue a month or two ago
