I agree with you on the eagles part. It is insane to use these magnificent birds to catch drones.
I have a good friend of mine, he is a professional falconer and he's furious about the idea. He knows for sure that the claws will suffer from the drone propellors. He looked into it and he actually knows the guy (very small world) who is trying to sell this idea to the (local/regional) police force. He's trying to make a good buck out of breeding eagles. There are however a lot of rules and regulations for having and using birds of prey. I don't think it will become reality. I hope.....
Besides, technological solutions will hit the market even before the eggs hatch.
