I will be getting some for my S900 when they are available. Swinging 17" props they will be much more efficient.
Interesting that they won't fit the S1000 due to the motor to motor distance being too small. Hasn't stopped them using a picture of the S1000 in their promotional material though ;)

Gotta be for the S2000 16-rotor heavy lift multi-rotor that's rumored. To engineer these exclusively as an upgrade for S900 owners doesn't make sense.

The S2000 is rumored to be the king of the DJI lineup with the ability to lift RED Epics, etc. if as rumored they put 16 of these motors on the S2000 (8 arms, two motors mounted per arm, 1 up, 1 down), according to the E1200 spec sheet you would have

Max Thrust: 16 X 3900g/each = 62kg
Recommended take off: 16 X 1400g/each = 22kg

Figure you lose some optimization with counter-mounted motors so figure max = 50-55kg, recommended = 18-20kg.

That would be some SERIOUS lifting power.

I wouldn't be surprised if they announced the S2000 and Inspire handheld gimbal at NAB 2015.
