Hasn't all this kind of flying now been totally banned within Belguim. I thought a Royal Decree had been passed wef April 25th last year which for class 2 UAV's this flight would be illegal?

I've just checked (including the air map - attached) but can't find anything. The area is just between a Class D area and minimal height 2500ft area. Further no NOTAM and/or other restrictions. So... you should be fine. But I'll ask my instructor to be absolute sure.
There are some restrictions on that area (Royal domain, military training grounds, prisons and a military airfield). But they are all well indicated in the attached map.
I think, following the normal regulations, flying was OK.

And for Belgium... no specific restrictions for Class II and Class I-a and I-b for flying in general. Just above cities, industrial areas etc. Like anywhere else
