Hey everyone, just wanted to say a quick hello. I pulled the trigger on a Inspire 1. Background is in video production, after renting a P4 for a short film, I got hooked. Looking forward to sharing my work and learning from everyone on here. Hope there are no issues, but I feel confident buying from B&H.

When I receive my bird, should I be worried about updating the firmware? Reading some horror stories about the latest update.

Hi Derrick

Where in NC are you? Latest firmware is fine as long as you do an ECU calibration on a flat service after the firmware upgrade as well as calibrate the compass before you fly.

Durham here.
I suggest waiting on doing FW updates until you see what others are experiencing. I stopped doing them a few months back when a camera update almost ruined my X5. Fortunately, I was able to roll back and restored it to normal operation. Since then I have had no problems other than video breakup on very hot days. (This has only happened on the X3)
When it is really hot, I don't fly. Too much $$ at stake.
