If I want to start using the SSD card on my i2 how much extra do I need to pay in order to start using that feature or just buy the card and the reader and its all set.

You will need to purchase the ProRes and/or CinemaDNG license from DJI to gain the full benefit of using The CineSSD card. I believe the only thing that will record to the CineSSD without those licenses is Burst Photos

So to take photos or video on the SSD you need a license , almost scare to ask what is the price for that ? and thanks in advance Paul for the reply.

I notice on DJI site you can buy one or both license . If I only want one license which is is needed for just recording film. I'm sure getting both license is used by the big filming companies .

You know that you can record video to the micro sdcard, 128GB max, in h.264 or h.265 and .jpeg or raw stills.
I did read your initial post, but was not sure you realized this capability, not trying to be a smart alec.

No problem thanks for the reply. I'm looking at is there a good reason to spend the extra money for the SSD or just stick with the SD card. I know with SSD you get more information on your video which causes you to have a lot of space being used and lot less footage than someone using a SD card.

Paul is correct, Ssd can only be used for ProRes or CinemaDNG video, or for 14+fps burst stills photos.

You need a license for ProRes or CinemaDNG, but not for the burst photos. It won't record any other video format or any normal stills photos (i.e. JPEG or dngs). The burst photos are kind of a side effect of it recording CinemaDNG which is effectively a continuous running DNG burst of 24-30fps.

In terms of pricing for the licenses...

Apple ProRes Activation Key: $500
CinemaDNG Activation Key: $1,000
CinemaDNG & Apple ProRes Activation Key: $1,300 (save $200 when purchasing them together)

The licenses can only be purchased here on DJI.com.

In terms of the CINESSDs...

120G: $299
240G: $499
480G: $899

And don't forget a CINESSD Station which is $149

Hi..Firstly have you checked that the I2 is not already licenced? If it is there will be a sticker on the side ( see photo ) and to double check run DJI Assistant 2 .there is the licence section on that programme which will tell you if its enabled or if you have to buy thats where you input the licence numbers

FYI- When you buy the ProRes/CineDNG licenses from DJI, you don't get a sticker...just a license code to enter into DJI Assistant 2. Maybe if you buy the licenses with the bird it comes attached, but otherwise the sticker is not a good indicator.

You can buy the I2 with licenses installed..and the sticker is put there by DJI,
