I2 Transmitter External Battery

Has anyone tried using a Lipo or NIMH, etc. battery plugged into the I2 transmitter to power it externally?

I read where the I2 controller has a 6,000mAh LiPo 2S battery. Im wondering if you could just fit a barrel jack on a similiar battery and plug it into the controller jack if you need it WHILE IT IS BEING USED TO FLY THE I2?

You can use a TB50 and the DJI part # 12 to charge the I2 controller while in use. We stock them.
