IPad mini 2

Would second that. Had issues with autonomous flight apps and switched to iPad Air 2 instead. Also watch out for overheating if using in a rugged case.

+1 vote against iPad Mini 2. iPad Pro is the way to go, or CrystalSky if you don't require third party apps.

Skip the Mini 2 and the Crystal Sky, go with the iPad Pro.

You could try it, you may run into issues still.
