Yes, you have heard correctly. Just picture it. Your apartment is located on the 27th floor of an older apartment building in New York City. The view is probably not the greatest but thankfully, you are far away from everything. Certainly street noise is not a problem. Suddenly, you hear a loud crash. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? It sure as heck ain't superman although one can never discount some nutcase in tights flying through your window. How did it all happen?
