Hey all

Am in the process of installing my Mars 58 v2 parachute on my Inspire 1 with modified DJI case.

Bought the Mars 58 V2, Inspire 1 mount, Mayday module and a few accessories (that hasnt arrived yet).

Pic 1 (current status of assembly)

Pic 2 (Assembly with coin-like plate and security-split)
I made the coin-like plate so that the knot for the yellow string would be underneath the plastic plate.

Pic 3 (Mayday modue attached with velcro)

Pic 4 (Inspire 1 placed in the modified original DJI case)

Pic 5 (closeup shot of pic 4)

Pic 6 (more pics of case)

Pic 7 (pictures of the cut out, where i had to remove foam)

Pic 8 (more cut outs)

Pic 9 (Cut outs in the lid)

The build continues when more parts arrive.

There is only room for 4 props at the moment. Ordered prop tubes. Will modify the case when they arrive.
Best regards

There are 3 main reasons for relatively small popularity of these devices:

1. Heavy payload significantly taxing already not-2-impressive flying time.
2. The ugliness.
3. Questionable sufficiency (by far nobody really reported the outcome of an Inspire emergency parachuting).

Therefore most of us is wiling to take the risk and enjoy flying the drone with her full performance potential.

I agree but it's a lot invested especially those who fly with the X5 with different lenses I look at it as an airbag you may never use it but the day will come when it would be needed

who cares about #2 and #3 is like an airbag in your car or a CAPS parachute in a Cirrus. All that matters is that the poster is happy with the protection

Agreed.

I don't have one because insurance is much cheaper. It additionally covers theft or other non-airborne accidents as well.

Have you noticed the stress cracks yet? Good luck to you. I do not recommend this product because it will cause your Inspire 1 air frame to crack from the stress!

You are wise to have the insurance. I plan to look into that. I learned the hard way that this is a bad product that causes damage to the air frame of the Inspire 1.
