I purchased an Inspire today and I’m having some problems with it. The short story is that I can’t connect it to the controller and the Inspire is blinking red and yellow.
The longer story is that I purchased a new-in-box Inspire from Craigslist but I think the previous owner might have had one or more of the controllers connected to another Inspire because when I turned on the Inspire and the controllers, the Inspire didn’t connect to the controllers. (I did make sure the controllers were correctly connected in master/slave.)
I thought the problem might have been the firmware version on the controller, as I was getting a message saying I needed to upgrade.
I successfully upgraded both controllers but was still unable to connect to the Inspire - it just blinked yellow - even after pressing the red button on the Inspire. I realized that the problem might be caused by having older firmware on the Inspire, so I upgraded it too by putting an SD card into the camera.
I successfully (I think!) upgraded the firmware - there were lots of blinking lights and camera movement - and at the end of the process the LED was solid red. I turned the Inspire off and when I turned it back on, the LED was flashing yellow and red. The manual says that this means I need to calibrate the compass, so I followed the directions to do that.
However, the LED is still flashing yellow and red and I’m still unable to connect the Inspire to the controller. The last thing I tried was to
Sadly, that doesn’t work: the LED still flashes red and yellow and the controller says the syncing timed out.
Any suggestions? Is there a way to confirm what firmware version is running on the Inspire; should I have seen a “success”-type text message. I’m not sure what to do next.
Thanks!
Fergus

- Turn everything off.
- Turn on the controller and tap “Linking RC” in the “RC Control Settings” screen.
- Turn on the Inspire.
- Press the red button
