Olympus m.zuiko 17mm

Anybody have or use this lens? Tell me what you think compared to the 12 mm ?
On the x5s.
I'm compiling my shopping list.

The 17mm lens has the same image quality (Excellent) as the 12mm lens with a different focal length. It is another worth while tool to have when doing video and still photos.

I had one along with the Oly 12mm and I preferred the 17mm over it. I got better color definition from it and the FOV wasn't noticeably different.

I purchased the 7.5mm Laowa lens ($519 on Amazon) to add to my collection of lenses and I really like the wide field of view I get with it. Along with the 25&45mm lenses I have found that I have a lot of different options for getting my shots with my I2.

I would love for somebody do a comparison of the video quality of the p4p vs the I2 with a wide-angle lens comparative to the p4p.

Just curious... Other than zooming over the occasional tree or around the occasional sign, when does an aerial photographer get to take advantage of a short focal length? I've pondered this for quite a while.

Are you asking why someone would use a wide angle lens versus a longer lens? Keeping in mind that the X5 and X5s both have a 2X crop factor so a 12mm is = to a 24mm and 17mm is = to a 34mm.

No. You mentioned a "different focal length." In feet, what are the differences between the 12mm focal length vs the 17mm focal length?

I am not sure if I am answering your question, I found an online calculator to do the math for me. It depends greatly on the distance from the lens to the subject.
