Hi All, I have a laowa 9mm lens and the X7 camera for the I2. When in the air the signal from the lens disconnects. This seems to be happening more lately since I have put a filter on the front. Could it be a balance problem? If so what do you use to balance it? Thanks.

Does the lens assembly feel/look balanced when on the ground? I assume you cleaned the contacts, yes? What other troubleshooting have you done?

D

Hi Donnie, sorry for the late reply. Things do look balanced on the ground. I will try to clean the contacts. I have read posts somewhere on the internet, don't remember where, and they said to use golfers lead tape to add weight to the back of the camera. Looks messy.

What do you mean "signal from lens disconnects"? As far as I remember 7mm is not officially supported (Focus and Aperture do not work remotely - only manual adjustment) and lens is never "recognized" by camera..

Do I miss something?

I agree @kronja - we have just finished a couple of weeks shooting with the similar Laowa 14mm and it never showed any connection between the lens and the camera. On an unrelated note we noticed drifting horizon lines (although never more than 1.5 degrees, enough to be noticeable and need correcting in post). Hmmmmm. Otherwise a beautiful lens though! J

For what it's worth. My used Inspire 1 had problems with the cameras dropping out during flight and on the ground. I could shake the camera on the ground and it would sometimes start working again. In the air i would jerk the drone around and try to make the camera work. I took the X5 mount off and found that one of the connectors had a broken lock. Therefore it would come loose, and the camera would drop out. I replaced the both jumpers and now the camera stays on all the time. So maybe check those connectors and jumpers.
