My I1 controllers charge my Android tablets and iPad when connected. It's easy enough to look at the phone and see if it's drawing charging power.

I would be interested in seeing a screen shot of the charge icon on your iPad while connect to an Inspire 1 controller. I'm 99% sure the Inspire 1 controller does NOT charge the iPad in any way, shape or form. I can't speak for Android devices.

My I1 with my iPhone 6S, there is no charge icon. That's why I asked.
If, this addiction becomes serious, I will get an iPag Mini. Larger. More battery life.
