After receiving your part 107, will you be required to retake the same exams every two years, or just renew your license?

While existing pilots are only required to take a quickie 15 question Part 107 test on sUAV specific questions, it's clear the FAA is choosing to restrict commercial operations for the myriad of would-be drone flyers. With around 600,000 active pilots and over 500,000 "registered" drones (of the millions sold), we should not be surprised the FAA will continue to use gating retests to restrict licensing.

Hopefully in time the FAA will develop sUAV guidelines and more meaningful tests that are better aligned to safe operations. For instance, since the FAA knows aviation pilots cannot rely on their ears to warn of oncoming aircraft, they completely ignore the possibility that might be beneficial to the remote PIC. Yet we all know it's child's play to hear an airplane or helicopter within a 1 NM radius and take appropriate countermeasures. We could all come up with dozens of safety factors the FAA has overlooked in their documentation and testing , yet avoid reading this and developing obtuse questions about doppler equations like this!

I just took my second recurrent today. Initial in 2016, recurrent in 2018. The recurrent is heavy on sectionals, airspace, 107 regulations. No dumb TAFs, METARs questions, except part 107 weather minimums (know those well).

The link you provided is actually if you have registered already with the current system. If you had tested on the old PSI system, you have to register first before logging into this link. I passed the recurrent 88% with little or no studying. Ive spent plenty of time with charts though. Thanks Again
