*I apologize if this isn't allowed here. I am just trying to get this post to reach as many people as possible*

My Inspire 1 Pro was stolen today. Stock case had the craft, RC, x5 w/15mm lens, and 2 TB48s as well as 2 sets of props and charger. Please keep your eyes peeled for any Inspire 1 Pro's for sale near Riverside, CA or all of Southern California/Inland Empire. Police report has been filed. I've attached photos as well as my FAA registration info and serial.

Well, this will set the business back a bit. Back to the drawing board with the trusty P4. I suppose this is the way things go sometimes.

Happy Thanksgiving

Can you ask DJI to locate your inspire with your serial?

I sent them an eMail earlier. The representative basically told me there's nothing they can do in terms of locking or tracking the device. My only hope is raising enough awareness in the community so that when he posts it for cheap, someone might be able to catch it.

Has anyone tried reporting stolen units to the FAA? I mean, they have all of your information in a national database. It seems that you should be able let them know it was stolen in case someone tries to register it again (I know, you'd have to be double dumb). Never tried it but I am sure if I told them my Cessna 172 was stolen, they'd keep an eye out for the serial number, at the least.
If this is not possible then this is an example of another one sided system. If you register your equipment here in the states, it can only hurt you and there is no benefit to the owner of the quad. This means most people will continue to purchase and not register.

How about your FAA N #?

I always wondered about the prices in LA. If you look on craigslist you can find inspires for about 30% off. I'm looking for one in southern Nevada and Southern California. I'll keep my eyes open. The Market is being flooded with the inspire ones right now because of the two coming out. Someone will try to sell it.

When I canceled my registration, under reason I put "stolen". Seems like this is the only way of flagging a serial number as stolen.

I had my FA# (not sure if its N# for hobby aircraft but mine was registered for commercial use) on the inside. It is attached in one of the photos along with the serial. I also had my registration card printed on a piece of paper inside the case. I am hoping he tries to sell it without removing one or both of those. At any rate, my registration has been canceled and flagged as "stolen".

Thanks man. Prices are generally cheaper in SoCal because of how saturated the market is with EVERYTHING. You can find a good deal on any consumer electronic on a daily basis, so it's not uncommon to see cheap Inspires on Craigslist. Majority of them are legit. Just keep your eyes peeled for any suspicious looking posts, or a non-California area code. I'm sure he's using a fake number to sell stolen merchandise, seemed like he knew what he was doing.

I find it incredible that DJI has not enabled a "find my iPhone" type feature.

Why, they sold the one that was stolen so they made there money off of it and if a replacement is purchased they'll make money off that as well. Win-win for DJI.

The Inspire does not communicate on the cellular network, so how is it going to communicate to another device to locate it?

Makes you want to bury one of those car jack tracking devices deep in the foam in your case and on the bird too. They have some good range on them and they have gotten a lot lighter too. All the rental car places use them.
