Two weeks ago I had a home break in and they made off with my Inspire 1 in it's case with two remotes and two batteries. But they didn't take the charger. If anyone notices a used I1 originating in the central Texas, US region please let me know.

Thanks,
Steve

That sucks, I'm sorry for you!

If someone is flying with it, you should see it in your profile!?

Chris

I was actually thinking about this earlier. It would be nice if there was some anti-theft technology built in, similar to Find my iPhone. The ability to flag it as lost/stolen, and then have the location sent to you when powered on would be fairly simple.

Keep your eye on Craigslist, eBay and call the local pawn shops most likely drug addicts they do not want it so they will turn it into Cash.to bad you did not have a tracker on it or if you did someone may turn it on not knowing what it is. Good luck and God bless

Thank you all for your kind suggestions and thoughts. I will stay vigilant.

I would contact DJI and ask if there is a way they can help track it down. I guess this would be a good time to have a tracker on it for myself. Goodluck and hope you find it in perfect condition. If you don't mind me asking, did they take anything else???

that really sucks...

1. pawn shops are a dead end. (i had 10k in camera equipment stolen, and caught the guy and got him to confess to pawning it, pawn shop refused to give it back without the ticket, and even then i still had to pay for it lol

2. the app idea seems promising, but even then your on a manhunt.

3. maybe you set up homeowners insurance, or renters insurance somewhere down the line?

And I've already proceed the insurance which had a $2.2k deductible and depreciated value. Visited pawn shops, given the serials to the case file, and have auto search updates on CL and eBay.

image.jpeg He's lucky it was your stuff. I would have waited for him some night. Wire my black mask and beat him silly. He would have ran back it his pad and give me my stuff back. That's why it alway pays to own a large dog like my Cane Corso Mastiff. They are not barkers Max would have let him come in then ripped his *** up

I would think Dji would see where the drone is once the app is on or they can cancel the sn # and brick the unit like Apple can on there iPhones I would just wait outside the condo and play dective,,,, good luck

To the detective that called me Tuesday after hearing my voicemail about the GPS tracker, he sort of understood when I emailed him screen shots. So he asked me to explain in an email; I'll leave in typos as I was trying fast in the hope a judge would grant a fast warrant.
Thursday evening I came home at between 6:30 and 7 Pm and immediately noticed my iPad and spare iPhone were gone from the kitchen counter. Turned and noticed the large black case missing off the couch which has my DJI Inspire 1 and a lot of accessories within (two batteries, propellers, IOS lightning cables). And the door adjoining the garage was open.

I called 911 and waited for police. During my wait I recalled the Trackimo GPS tracker I use for my drone and forgetting if I’d stored in the black case, I checked my primary Iphone’s (the one I carry with me at all times) Trackimo IOS app and it showed the attached route and last location. I recalled 911 as I was excited.

Once the police were at my house for my statement we noticed the last GPS was at 1L26 PM. I also noticed an odd porn ‘recently viewed tile’ on my RasberryPi and laughed about it to the officer not thinking. Later, I thought to check the history and notice the attached search history. You will notice an approximate 7-8 hour time code difference between 12:30 PM and the searches because the Raspberry Pie is a play computer I typically restore from scratch without bothering to set the time. But when I took that screen shot was after the officers left approximately 7 to 7:30 PM.

The list of stolen items:
DJI Inspire 1
Windows Surface Book with laptop case
Wired Mouse (one used for browsing for porn on RasberryPi
Ipad Mini 4 white
Iphone 6 white
Sony NEX DLSR and accessories in the camera bag (two lenses)
Jabra Revo Bluetooth headphones
UE MINI BOOM Wireless Bluetooth Speaker - Black

Sorry to mention I have been driving by the apartment complex and I spoke to one neighbor, a nice young professional women. I gave her my phone number and asked her to contact me if she saw that DJI Inspire drone as it is a very unusual item.

Lastly, as I mentioned on the phone they left the 12 GoPros including the bare one next to the RaspberryPi. And, they left the battery charger for the drone and the Windows Surface Book.

So, you know who stole your stuff and where they live? Then where is the f*cking bad *** heavy armored and sun glass wearing cavalry busting this little ****?

Chris

I know, right! The way I see it, I will fly again. They won't.

No, other than I received my insurance and now am mulling over my replacement options. I can't decide if I want to get the one I had and loved, the I1, upgrade to one of the new Inspire Pro or wait for the next one with collision avoidance.
