This is an interesting idea:

Tether created for DJI Inspire - AOPA

Sure, it limits some of the functionality of the Inspire, but it also solves some issues. I could see it being handy in some situations for sure.

Tethered is how CNN got their waiver to fly over people's heads at no more than 21 feet in their waiver, nor higher than 200 feet: Weighs less than 1.4 pounds being part of it too as it is hard-wired to the controller. Price $8,000+ for what looks like a GoPro Hero camera on a drone. See Fotokite.com

Inspire, weighing more, might have even less altitude if approved for flying over people's heads.
