Transport iPad Air in DJI suitcase?

I have an iPad Mini that easily fits in the slot that originally contained the Inspire 1 documentation packet.

I am thinking about buying an iPad Air for it's ledger screen, but I'm pretty sure it won't fit in the same slot and allow the lid to close. I'd prefer to store the iPad Air in the case with the Inspire 1, any ideas?

could you modify the foam with a razer knife to make extra room? or is the case just not deep enough?

Just made an extra slit in the top section to accommodate my iPad air two. Just had to lengthen bottom slot by about half an inch and it fits perfectly.
