Two controller firmware update?

Got a second controller to go with my X5 but due to the dreadful weather at the moment haven't really touched them but thought I would update my system to the latest firmware version.

To update the controllers via the app do you have to turn both the controllers on as you would normally?
ie: both linked together slave and master and then run the update?

I cant find any info on the dji site for a two controller firmware setup.

the slave will prompt for RC update in any config, you dont' need to have master on
