Yikes what's happened to ALL my photos ??

Got a Macbook Pro.
Just looked in to my Inspire photos folder on my desktop and it's empty of all photos and videos ??

Every single photo and video on my Macbook has suddenly disappeared just leaving empty folders !! Anybody any ideas what the f**k might have happened ? They were there yesterday and I haven't done anything to the Mac since.

Imported in the photos app and deleted from original location?
