With firmware V01.11 DJI aparently reduced the transmitter power on the drone radio to 0.1W which is what some other countries allow. The FCC in the US allows 0.5W but it was easier to make them all the same worldwide (that's reading the tea leaves, but is entirely plausible). Maybe that works...

The gear works fine. Auto gear mode depends on the downward vision sensor working. Since there is no warning about the ground approaching, or the Inspire slowing down right before landing, and the gear does not lower automatically, I'm assuming the VPS is out of action. I think this issue first...

I checked - the Vision Protection System is on. It was working before, I guess it must have failed.

Did you try using Litchi? I haven't had an issue using Litchi with my P4P or my Inspire 1. The drone industry is shaking out and consolidating, Autopilot was bought by Hangar. And perhaps if you have "registered" the new version of the Auopilot app everything would be OK. It seems more and more...
