Unreal close call with helicopter IN THE NEWS

We need more affordable high intensity strobe lights to be available: double sided tape, replacable battery, Easy,,... The red / green lights that manufacturers put on craft are not only ineffective at distance in daylight, also, not as per aviation regs. (Red Right / Port, Green Left /...

Good to get the information out there.

Unreal close call with helicopter IN THE NEWS

Yes but who can file a NOTAM in the USA? Part 107 or hobby fliers?? If the "drone" flier is not a licensed 107 operator, they are still allowed to fly in class G (below 400 ft) for "hobby" purposes..... OK we are on a "Certified operator blog" so everyone here should be able to have a NOTAM...

Unreal close call with helicopter IN THE NEWS

Of course, it is like when a car hits a pedestrian. the car is automatically "judged" as being at fault (Judge may not agree). Is a manned aircraft collides with an unmanned aircraft, the Unmanned pilot is in the wrong.... Just as if a powered aircraft hits a glider, power is in the wrong...

Unreal close call with helicopter IN THE NEWS

There is a case for all UAV's to have a very bright anticollision strobe light ( and all manned aircraft) (ADS-B out also) - 10-50W omnidirectional (360 Degree viewable) LED "Strobe" may make all the difference between being seen and a collision (in congested airspace). Flying any aircraft...

Bad Gimbal/Horizon Drift after Latest FW v01.02.0200 update. Inspire 2.

??For real, or that is what it says on the "home location" Sucks real bad if "for real" as Care refresh needs the aircraft for repair / replacement... :-(

Bad Gimbal/Horizon Drift after Latest FW v01.02.0200 update. Inspire 2.

I have been having this problem since my I2 was New (October 2017) It isn't as bad as you demonstrate, but it is as if the Aircraft doesn't fully realise it isn't Level (which it isn't when hovering static in any real wind) and the gimbal doesn't perform enough compensation for the fixed angle...

    Flying people now

No time for a chute unless Rocket deployed. So that makes it a Splat... Life on the Edge. BTW: Drone is just a term for the uneducated "drones" to pretend they know WTFlip they are talking about... RC is obviously Radio controlled flown for Hobby or sport, unmanned (UAS/UAV) RPAS is commercial...

    Zenmuse z30 vs x5s Camera w/ 45mm - 175mm

Thanks for that hint, one other query.. There is a balancing cap on as standard isn't there (there has to be because there isn't a bayonet fitting visible, as standard, but someone else on another thread cast doubt on that.....). Just hoping that I wasn't trying to yank the back of the camera...

    Zenmuse z30 vs x5s Camera w/ 45mm - 175mm

Stupid Question. (but I must ask) How does the back cap come off?? I have only got the kit lens at this stage (I didn't realise that the 45-175 worked...) so haven't needed to remove the cap. (I have the balancing ring for the 15-45mm zoom lens, I intend to give that a go in the "near...

    USA Rates for jobs

Good point. Degraded quality doesn't always work in ones favour, but securing IP with watermark is vital. Also ensuring that the "sample" is only a small fraction of the "desired output" keeps the client hungry for more. (at least here we are stimulating a little discussion without anyone...

    USA Rates for jobs

In this business it isn't a good thing to work for too little... (I have no idea about your area) For a business -business exchange (western world), paying/charging less than $200 to turn up is "chicken feed"/hardly worth the effort, if they expect some work out of you prices will tend to rise...

Blew my 2nd high pay film job! Please chime in.

Yawing gimbal may indicate some degree of "balance issue" with the camera... If a camera is out of balance an active gimbal will tend to precess, in some cases.. (of course it may be a software issue..) For High end Pro Use, maybe a high end unit is the answer. (with gimbal operator)...
