DJI CrystalSky Monitor Owner Discussion by Advexure

I live in Colorado so we have to deal with a lot of sun shine being in a semiarid climate along the front range. Probably very similar to Southern California. I really cannot think of situation where the high brightness would not meet my needs. If I had a choice between paying more for 3rd party...

DJI CrystalSky Monitor Owner Discussion by Advexure

I ordered in April and received the high brightness from Advexure's first batch. All I can say is it was worth the wait. The build quality is outstanding and the display is awesome. It is more than just display brightness as the screen has significantly less glare and the images are very crisp...

X5S compatible lens and balancing thread

Joe, I am not gimbal design engineer but to answer your first question, having a balanced gimbal is always better as it is a control system with stabilization feedback loops. Point being you can introduce micro vibrations due to the feedback loops over compensating. These can show up in your...

Inspire 2 compatible with Olympus 14-42mm?

That is unfortunate. The release notes for FW V.01.0.0110 states "Added camera lens distortion correction in H.264/H.265 formats". They are not clear on what lenses they did that for. I am shooting with prime lenses so maybe others who are using this lens can comment.

Inspire 2 compatible with Olympus 14-42mm?

If you are shooting in Prores, my understanding is there will be no lens distortion correction and you will have to correct it in post. If you have not already, load the latest FW and try shooting in h264.

Can I zoom (with the right lens) with the X5S?

If you are still having issues take 1/ 4 inch strip of duct tape with a length that can wrap around the circumference of the balance ring with about 1 inch of excess. Acts like an oil filter wrench as it keeps the balance ring from being malformed. Works great for stuck ND filters as well as...

DJI Goggles - Immersive FPV Aerial Video Goggles

I think what this means is Camera control, including gimbal head tracking, requires the mini USB cable. Video feed would be through the HDMI cable.

DJI Goggles - Immersive FPV Aerial Video Goggles

Since the i1 and i2 do not support ocusync, you would need two cables, a hdmi and micro USB correct?

    Crystal Sky Monitors

Just pe-ordered the 7.85 high brightness from Advexure today. Very excited. Getting tired of fighting with sun shades or tying to find a shady spot. The only con is the lack of third party apps support like litchi.

    who's next?... Firmware V01.0.330 released

It took about 20 minutes for me and it seemed to stall around 84% during the FW flashing sSHzbws stage. Just be patient as it starts to speed Shen up after that point. As stated, make sure you have fully charged batteries. us It took about 20 minutes for me and it seemed to stall around 84%...

    h.265

The only reason why I have played around with H.265 is a lot of 4K televisions only support H.265 (e.g. Vizio). I agree the workflow is painful (FCPX user) and you can always use handbrake to convert from H.264 to H.265 if you want to watch the video on a 4K TV.

DJI Inspire 2 camera control with VR headset and Litchi app

Very interesting way to control the gimbal with a second operator.

Inspire 2 compatible with Olympus 14-42mm?

@Shayd, Although not a direct comparison, the following video shot by 2nd2non "Waap" on the Panasonic should help you. I think the Panasonic would be a good lens for building inspection but probably not something I would use for videography but the videos should help you in that decision. I am...

Hmmm guess I will avoid this upgrade until this is worked out. Thanks for the heads up!

X5S compatible lens and balancing thread

@Waap, Thanks for the response! Confirms the 25mm choice for my application. Cheers
