Thanks for all your replies. All sorted now. I have the original Inspire with the X5 as a later addition. Seems I needed the PRO firmware to update the X5. I had downloaded the Inspire version. A perfect flying day here...cloudless sky, zero wind. I'm off out with the bird.

The card was the one that came with the Inspire. I didn't reformat after downloading the latest firmware onto it the other night. The SD card does feel a bit loose in the slot. Now I'm worried. I'll give it another go this weekend. Thanks for your reply.

Mine made a very short screeching noise when I first fitted it. It only did it once and it was very short but it is a concern.

You may be able to get a drone in if it was for a job for a big client based locally. But, it would take a lot of work, good contacts and a local person with a lot of 'wasta.' For recreational flying you don't stand a chance as Andrew discovered.

I received my X5 without lens this morning. It was ordered directly from DJI on the day the X5 was released.

Did you make sure the aircraft was perfectly level before you calibrated the IMU? Doing it on a lawn or any kind of uneven ground is always going to cause problems. You really don't need to calibrate the IMU (or the compass) before every flight.

I ordered my X5 about an hour after it was released. My DJI tracking page still says 'pending.' Not happy.

I have just ordered one. I already have two of the compatible lenses so it makes sense. I am thinking of buying a couple of X5s and a couple of X5Rs when they are released with a view to renting them out to professionals with PFAW tickets. Who would be interested in a rental service (UK based)...

The app can't update the aircraft - it only updates the controllers. Have you removed v 1.3 from the SD card and are you sure you have 1.4 in the root directory?
