I wasn't in a position to have eyes on the drone, not due to distance but behind an obstacle, and I made an incorrect assumption as to the location of a hazard.

Thank you all for the responses, I decided to stop being hard headed and sent it in to DJI to see what it would cost to reconstruct the mess. I was worried that they would take months to get the bird back but it seems like most experiences with them have been good lately. Safe Flying Everyone!!

Ah, I see. The only issue I had with the walkie talkie set up was having to take a hand off the RC to communicate, seems like VOX would solve that and walkie would be viable. I have no experience in that area, showing my rookie, haha.

Good idea, I didn't know what VOX was but I think that will work just fine. Would wind cause any issues or are they built to filter that out? Thank You!

Haha, thank you so much for the info.. I will definitely take all of those points to heart, may be a little to much of a sissy to go atti in this situation but I see the advantages to get a smooth shot. I can also see myself getting sucked into the editing side as well.

I hadn't heard of tripod mode but after some research I think that will be perfect for some of the shots I have planned! Thank You! However, I didn't see anywhere how to select that mode and could not find that option in the DJI App. Do you know how to locate it?
