Since the latest Remote ID proposal came to light, I joined the AOPA drone section (was already a member but not for drones).
I got the first e-news letter and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of time and effort and research they had put into it.
Like others, I was a little skeptical about the AOPA being interested in drone pilots. But I am now more optomistic. They even had some local cases in Michigan about a county that had banned drones and was overturned by the courts. I hadn't seen that anywhere else.
Maybe there is some hope that with enough drone joiners the AOPA would help give us a voice in the remote ID realm.
It might be worth checking out.
