Hey doods!

Unlike most of you guys out there, until roughly 6 months ago I managed to keep my Inspire 1 v2 in service. Like most of you, now that she's out of service, she gets mostly ignored. After reading several complaints from forum members regarding Inspire 1 connection issues after sitting idle too long, I decided to charge a battery and fire mine up. The good news is that everything connects normally and she still flies like a dream. It's really too bad that this drone is so dated. They really did over-spec these things. She served me well for many years, netting descent, regular income for about 6 years. I imagine if you don't crash them they probably last forever. It's only a matter of time before the batteries become completely useless.

I just remembered that I have a spare Inspire 1. I guess I better fire that one up, too!

. Go to AirAmericaAerial.com/shop and order a repaired T-48 or buy one of the 10000amp or 9000 amp batteries. They will give you almost 35 minutes of flight time.

Donnie, it is impressive you were able to keep making money with that machine for so long. The I1 was such a revolution when it came out- not even all that long ago! But drone years are like dog years...

What are you using now for jobs? Mavics?

Honestly, I probably could've used something more practical, like my P4P, for instance. But I find that construction crews tend to judge aesthetics. And the Inspire 1 just LOOKS like a pro machine. Conversely, the P4P looks like every other drone we see in cartoons and the like. So, for that reason (mostly), I just kept the Inspire 1 in service.

Absolutely. I will have a hard time finding an excuse to fly her. I have moved away from construction progress clients, so I literally have zero reason to fly her. But I will...

90% of my work is with the Matrice 300. Maybe 10% is with the ol' P4P.

Matrice 300- ok, right on. Nice machine!

Are P4P batteries as difficult to source/find as I1 batts?

I have to say that I have been very impressed with it. It's been very reliable and the OcuSync Enterprise™ communication protocol has amazing range. I routinely fly a mile out while maintaining 100% connection strength. I assume that this is the same communication protocol the Inspire 3 uses. Range-wise, the Inspire 2 wasn't much better than the Inspire 1. DJI seems to have conquered those range issues.

I have been buying them on eBay. My business partner purchased some last year at Best Buy.

I just checked and there are many available on eBay.
