Greetings. I have a question about the removal of balancing rings. I have included an image. Maybe I am talking about the wrong thing but for some reason, I can not seem to remove the balancing ring. Please let me know if I am mistaken. Thanks in advance.

No that is not the balancing ring. The balance rings are basically empty filter rings that screw onto the end of the lens.

Ah okay. The ring I illustrated rotates into a locked and unlocked position. Not sure what it's function is.

To lock and unlock the lens... like every other frame body camera.

Thanks. I don't have such a ring on my D810, nor D500 but good to know I was looking in the wrong place. Much appreciated.
