There used to be an annual Christmas Tree burning right there every year after Christmas.

I did not know that. I've been going there off and on since the mid 80's. They through me off when they did the overpass for Bush highway and rerouted the entrance. at first I thought they closed it.

we had been doing some riding up at Mesquite wash lately.

Yeah, they did away with the crossover for the original entrance, looks like it never existed. A nursery brought an eighteen wheeler all the way down that road loaded with trees that didnt sell. When it was unloaded the stack was 50 feet in diameter and 25 to 30 feet tall. the truck and trailer got stuck, but there were so many people there, we all lined up on both sides and the rear of the trailer and pushed it out. I wish someone could have got that on video.
