USA Title 14 CFR Part 107 Waivers (Post your approved/rejected)

Is it even worth attempting to follow up on authorizations? I've now hit five months on several. I know the wait is long but I'm hearing others getting theirs in half the time. I'm glad others are getting theirs, no sour grapes here but if I attempt to check will that just ensure a longer wait...

    Crash questions!

Any chance you had a loose prop connection? I had one set start backing the screws out which gave me an exceptionally unsettling shimmy in flight, like it was about to shake the whole prop lock/prop assembly off. Got it landed before tragedy but needless to say I switched to lock-tighted 1345T...

    X5 Lens Issues

Yes, I believe so. Buyer may have gotten it working but I'm interested in any thoughts on fixes or anyone else that has had this problem.

    X5 Lens Issues

I just sold my X5 along with the original lens, and Olympus 14-42 and a Panasonic lens. All worked fine when I shipped them out but the buyer has had nothing but problems with it, as it keeps giving him a can't recognize lens error. He has cleaned all of the electrical contacts on the camera...

Advise on getting into light Commercial work.

107 is your first priority, get that done as soon as you reasonably can. The general standard for liability insurance is 1 million but can go in either direction depending on your application. There is an insurance thread on here, I use Joe Ernster (AviationBroker) and highly recommend him...

    Newbie equipment advice

I agree that the P4 can be perceived as a toy from the outside. I had this opinion for quite awhile but the reality is that it is the best tool for the job. Wind is an issue but the more mapping based applications and service providers you look at the more you will see geared toward the P4. What...

    Olympus 14-42mm on X5S

Here's a few I did with the 14-42 last week. I'd love a touch more clarity but not bad for the price. I was about 50-75' from that tower with an Inspire 1. Side note....FDS - you guys able to ship gear effectively to PR right now or are things still too sketchy?

Mr. Martin, Thank you very much for your in-depth reply. It gives me more food for thought and I really appreciate it. One of my tipping points, for lack of a better term, is positioning myself in the market where I can deliver a quality product that has market value but doesn't over extend me...

Want to sell my Inspire 1 Please help

One manner I use to find a relative price is to compare similar setups near the end of their bidding cycle on eBay. It isn't the best in determining actual worth but it does give a general idea what people are actually willing to pay. For your kind of setup people are going to want to know the...

Thanks bluelight, that is exactly the kind of info I was hoping for.....unfortunately I always tend to stick on the questions that aren't an easy black and white answer. I am in the US, Houston, TX more precisely. The environment isn't the greatest but the UAS work opportunities here are...

I appreciate all of the input and info, as well as the other questions raised. It certainly is a daunting hill to start climbing but that is what hills are for :) . I am of the sort that while I understand the academics and the coursework path, I also need to get my hands dirty on the...

4th Ward Skate Park Inspire 1v1

Man that is a cool spot. I walked right by there visiting ATL a few months ago. You may look into lowering your stick inputs (dumbing them down, I think they say) it can help make your pan transitions a little smoother. Keep up the good work man.
