I just saw this on the BBC website:

http://www.bbc.com/news/business-33698812

Amazon is proposing that the 200-400 foot airspace be set aside for commercial drone flights, restricting "...low-speed localised drone traffic such as surveying, filming and private hobby drones" to below 200 ft. I hope it doesn't go through, but business usually trumps everything else in the U.S.

I saw this on the news last night too. I guess I could see this in limited areas, but Amazon is not going to be flying drones across the entire USA. I live in a medium sized city and I'm pretty sure Amazon will not be delivering anything to my house from someplace hundreds of miles away.

Now, 20-30 years into the future and maybe there will be 1000's of companies using drones for delivery, then I could see it.

Technology will trump this in the future. Collision avoidance and tighter advances in auto flight will just drive air freeways and roads. Soon there will be centers that will be able to see all drone activity. The future is going to be very cool and a lot of new jobs will be created for these infrastructures.

I wonder if there not 1000s of people will shoot amazons drones down and capture the packages. If it fly over nowhereland unter 400ft it will need a fighter escort lol

They should move them up and reserve 400-600ft for them. Otherwise anyone will try jamming, capturing or shooting them down. If the lower sky would be full of drones this would happen all the time.
