Connecting a tablet

I have an LG-G 8.3 tablet and it has a micro USB that I only use to charge the tablet. I'm confused about how to hook up to the RC. Is the USB on the RC an input or an output? I know I'd run the app on the tablet but the hookup and communication to the RC is not clear. Thanks for the clarification.

i believe you need an hdmi connection. there are adapters for many tablets. I bought an Asis 8" tablet that has the hdmi connection. I wanted a samsung but there is no hdmi.

No, the tablet hook up is via the USB port. The USB on the transmitter is an input and an output. The tablet establishes a 2-way communication via the USB port.
The HDMI is for dumb screens only.

Oh ok thanks. I know my LG tablet can sync up to a pc and it charges via the USB port. So I guess it can sorta be an input. I just didn't know what's inputting and outputting the video feed and if my tablet can support the direct it needs to go to be compatible.
