I have 3 inspire 1"s, 2 inspire 1 V2, and 1 inspire 1, V1.
I also have 4 GL658 controllers, one A, one B, and two C's.
I've replaced the HDMI board on two of them.
I've flown the 1, V1 before with the A controller.
However, now I can't get any Controllers to be recognized by my cell phones or tablets.
The drones have been upgraded to the latest firmware, and the cell phones also have the latest DJI app.
When connected to the controller, the phones receive a battery charge.
I can link the drones and controllers together, raise or lower the landing gear, and spin the motors very briefly.
I think the problem is a mismatch between the phone app and the controller's firmware. But since I can't see the controller on my phone screen, I can't upgrade it or even see which firmware version it has.
I've contacted DJI; they no longer support this drone and are no help. I can't find any version of the controller firmwear anywhere.

I'm hoping someone has some ideas about how to fix this problem.

Having the latest/greatest everything is probably your pitfall. These are old drones. Even when they weren't old, the latest firmwares had many issues, which is why most of us fly with legacy firmware. Same goes for iOS and DJI apps. All that latest/greatest stuff just created problems for me. So I run legacy iPads with legacy iOS with legacy Go App and legacy Go 4 App (for my other drones).

And you are correct, DJI will be of zero help.

Try connecting your controller to a legacy iPad running legacy iOS. I think the latest iOS I use for my Inspire 1 is iOS 11 installed on an iPad Air Pro 9.7". You don't need anything that specific. Just something with the old Lightning interface should work.
