While we were down at AUVSI in Dallas, TX we had the chance to attend the DJI Road Show that was demonstrating the new Matrice 200 series copters in real world scenarios. They had some new version of the copters there for us to see (probably closer to the actual production models) and had the M210 RTK version flying. They did 3 examples for us:
Tower Inspection
They inspected equipment up on a tower (cellular components) and showed us how well the copter performed in high magnetic environments as well as the power of the Z30 zoom camera to be able to be at a great distance from the tower and zoom in close enough to read bar codes.
Search and Rescue Scaling a Wall
They showed climbers on a wall looking for and rescuing a victim
Live Fire Department Training
This was definitely a crowd favorite. We were fortunate enough to have the fire department use their trainmen facility to show the M210 with the XT (FLIR) camera and how the fire chief uses this information during real fires. The XT camera performs fantastically and the fire chief was able to make numerous decisions based on the structure of the building, location of the heat and even the temperature of the fire fighter's equipment as they exited the fire.
Overall the Matrice 200 performed amazingly well, the cameras were fantastic and the CrystalSky monitors were bright and easily visible during the day.
