I do not condone the Editors reaction to Fly Colorado, the be honest I am disappointed by it and would like to say that as a mere member of this forum ( not the Administrator).
I for one joined what I thought was an independent forum where I would be able to read and post comments, issues and discussions about the inspire without fearing being chastised by someone in a position of authority on the board.
The Editor clearly loves the inspire and the community and this forum but has perhaps gotten a little close to it becoming a forum that wants to be run in the image he wants to read it. Surely the purpose is for us to be able to express our opinions without fear of public reprimand.
I hope we have not lost the benefit of members like Fly Colorado nor the ability to speak freely regardless of our opinions.
I find the comments regretful and hope that with the benefit of hindsight an apology not only to Fly Colorado but to all members may be forthcoming.
Lets ensure that we continue the great dialogue and mutual assistance on this site.
I wholeheartedly agree that everybody should be able to speak their mind and welcome open discussion.
What I felt was uncalled for in this instance was a comment exclaiming that EVERYBODY will definitely suffer a fly away at some point and people should 'Ground their fleet' which is just ludicrous with no proof to back this statement up.
If I heard of ANY dangerous problem or received information from DJI regarding safety or a fly away bug I would be the first to put it on this forum in Neon Lights
However, until such time there is substantiated proof of a problem in my opinion it causes more of an issue to run around shouting 'ground your aircraft, everyone will have a fly away'
If there was an inherent failure in the Inspire we would be hearing about it (like we have heard about the battery problem of dropping suddenly in flight). That has been well documented and we know how to avoid it.
In this instance though, it is not representing a 'trend'
Additionally, I welcomed Fly Colorado to the forum and responded to his post over on another thread. (Post #10). http://www.inspirepilots.com/threads/reported-increase-in-flyaways.3225/#post-43207
